Last week wrapped up an incredible 12 days of live events for the Welsh television company, S4C. We, as a part of both their Royal Welsh Show and The National Eisteddfod music festival, created a customised VR experience to promote the S4C brand and draw in more visitors than ever with the Virtual Reality Football Header activation.
As both were predominantly Welsh-speaking events, S4C was specific in their need for the Welsh language to be incorporated throughout their branding, as well as in-game. In order to do this, we worked closely with them on a VR solution that would fit these specific requirements.
The VR Football Header was determined to be the ideal activation to tie in S4C’s sponsorship of National Wales Football team at the event. In addition, the magnetic leaderboard was chosen to add an edge of competitiveness, whereby players head as many footballs into the goal as possible within a 90 second period.
Following a visit to our store in Burton Upon Trent, where S4C were able to see the equipment as well as experience it themselves, they were able to deliver feedback on any changes they wanted. Ultimately deciding on a number of changes that would allow the VR header to be unique to their event and fit both their National Wales Football Team sponsorship as well as support the Welsh-speaking theme of the event.
S4C were specific on the software changes and we were able to tailor the game so that all of the in-game text was translated from English to Welsh. Also requesting that the time of day was set from dusk to daytime, brightening up the VR experience. Additionally, elements of the game were adapted to suit S4C’s brief and in-game branding was incorporated for full marketing coverage.
‘Thank you for everything it all went brilliantly. The game was very popular and Leeroy was incredibly helpful and approachable.' Ffion Rees, S4C (RWAS)
‘Everything went like a dream, thank you! The game was really popular all week, and worked really smoothly. Leeroy was great too – thank you all for your help with this event. I hope I get to work with you all again soon.’ Gethin Jones, S4C (The National Eisteddfod of Wales)
